Journalist Enrique Vargas died in Puerto Plata, who had been receiving care for several days in the Intensive Care Unit of the Ricardo Limardo Hospital.
Vargas was initially admitted to the Bournigal Medical Center, from where he was transferred to the Ricardo Limardo, he was facing kidney problems and other health difficulties.
A native of El Ranchito de Río San Juan, he had a humble and exemplary career of more than 50 years in the media, since from 1974 to date he has worked as a reporter for several national and local media.
Since 1980 he has lived in Puerto Plata, working as a correspondent for the newspaper El Nacional, Noti-Sucesos of Radio Puerto Plata, as well as other media for which he collaborated.
In 2023 he was awarded a pension from the Dominican State, despite which he continued to work with the same enthusiasm and collaborate with different media.
His remains are being laid to rest at the Municipal Funeral Home.
