In the coming days, we will meet the people who will form the new government’s cabinet. I hope President Fernández makes a “good” selection and I immediately clarify what I understand by this: the appointment of people with political capacity, technical merits and, of course, the ethical qualities to direct the ministries of the Executive. How I would like errands, sycophants and opportunists to have little place there! “Little chips” will sneak in, but it would be ideal if they were isolated pockets.
It is not a matter of Varguitas waking up longing for what never was. A low-level cabinet will be useful for daily wars, but it will be useless to confront big problems. at hand: correct the course of our development, which creates a growing division between winners and losers and does not generate good employment opportunities for the majority; a penetration of organized crime into the classes and regions of the country and a cracking of the welfare state, which hits the weakest. And, on top of that, an inability to adapt to the global challenges of the climate crisis and the emergence of artificial intelligence.
I will pay close attention to see who he places in the citizen security portfolio. I will see if the president appoints a minister with a profile like the current one, incapable of defining and executing a security policy and coordinating with other powers of the Republic and municipalities, or opts for the best we have on this issue. One more failure here and the country will definitely get out of hand.
I will scrutinize those who name in the public education portfolio, a burning nail. There were serious mistakes and recent improvisations, which should not be repeated. Experienced leadership at the highest level in the MEP is needed to begin to rectify the situation. And, thinking about the expanded cabinet, the nAppointments to the Executive Presidency and Board of Directors of the Fund will be central to remove this institution from the governance chaos of recent years.
Finally, Who will they appoint in the MAG?which will deal with a badly hit agriculture, and in the Ministries of Labor and the Ministry of Economy and Industry? With sincerity, I hope you don’t resort to experiments anonymous. In short, I hope that the sugar rush of the electoral victory has passed and the president has taken advantage of these weeks to design a less contentious and more capable government.
