The Dominican Medical College (CMD) announces the delivery date of the 136 apartments in the Doctor Leocardio Peña housing project, in Santo Domingo Norte.
The purchasers of the first apartments delivered by the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) and President Luis Abinader will receive them on Friday, April 17.
The president of the CMD, Luis Peña Núñez, expressed that this project has filled each of the doctors who acquire a residential apartment with dreams, but that the years of waiting do not take away the hope and happiness of having their own condominium for their family.
“This inheritance is a continuity of those dreams in which many put their souls and hopes in this project that dates back more than 30 years and it is unfortunate that this dream has gone with some of our doctors who are not with us today and dreamed of having a home at the time,” said Peña Núñez during an assembly at the CMD headquarters.
The doctor highlighted that, despite the difficulties that have arisen, the delegation of medical owners has ensured compliance with the delivery of the apartments.
“We hope that the first ones who will receive it on Friday will have their move ready to settle in at once; their apartment will be delivered,” the doctor said with a laugh.
For his part, Rafael de los Santos, president of the purchasing committee, stated that the first buildings that will be delivered are old buildings that have been rehabilitated for delivery, so some could present defects, although MIVED will guarantee that all are in perfect condition.
The struggle of doctors to acquire their homes dates back more than 30 years; Desperate and almost losing hope, they rejoice at being able to have a delivery date for the project that took them so long to wait for.
