Citizens of Tasiilaq have over the years asked for a visit from Naalakkersuisut to show their challenges and to find solutions together. Now Naalakkersuisut comes to visit.
Three members of Naalakkersuisut is on its way to Tasiilaq after several years of calls from the city’s citizens, who have wanted greater political attention to local challenges.
The self-government states that the three Naalakkersuisut, the chairman of Naalakkersuisut Jens-Frederik Nielsen, Naalakkersuisoq for housing, infrastructure, outer districts and preparedness Iddimanngiiu Jensen Bianco and Naalakkersuisoq for fishing, catching, agriculture and self-sufficiency Peter Borg, will be in Tasiilaq from Saturday to Wednesday.
– The purpose of the visit is to meet with citizens, local actors, institutions and companies and to discuss social issues, writes the chairman’s department in a short announcement.
During the visit, dialogue is expected with both citizens and local actors about a number of challenges that have characterized the area for a long time. At the same time, Naalakkersuisut’s presence must help to strengthen cooperation and ensure that decisions are to a greater extent based on local needs.
