He performed on the crowded Split Riva, as part of Sudamje Petar Grašowhich already from the first minutes brought a strong dose of emotion and nostalgia. This was Graša’s first performance after two years in his hometown. Before the musician went on stage, the audience watched a video on the big screens with a cross-section of his rich career – from the early days to big performances in front of thousands of fans.
He opened the concert with the song “The Moon Above the Clouds”, after which he greeted the audience:
“Good evening, my dear Split, good evening, dear people, my people. Here I am in my city and, I can tell you, I’m getting a little nervous. They say there won’t be any rain, but there will be a lot of you. Team, let’s have fun and relax! Enjoy!” said Grašo.
The atmosphere heated up even more with the first bars of the hit “Sporke rici”, which the audience sang in unison. In the audience were also seen Hannah Huljić with their little daughter Albumit says Dalmatian portal.
Recalling the start of the “I love and exist” tour, which marks 30 years of his career, Grašo said:
“Many years have passed and a lot has happened. We crowned it all with this tour. I won’t list where we’ve been, but where we haven’t been – we’re still coming. And tonight we’re here, in my city.”
He also revealed how it was not easy to choose the songs:
“I chose the ones you love, but also the ones I love.”
The audience was especially moved by the announcement of the song “I need someone”, with which he returned to 1996. During the evening, he also sat down at the piano and performed a series of hits such as “Jel ti reka ko” and “Srce za vodija”, while the audience accompanied each line with thunderous applause. A special moment was the performance of the song “Ljubav jedne žene” from the album “Tuesday”.
Grašo dedicated another song Oliver Dragojević. Before the performance of “Cesarica”, Grašo said:
“Just me, you and my piano will sing this one.”
In an emotional speech, he recalled their relationship:
“He discovered a 16-year-old boy. I didn’t plan to be a singer, I wanted to be a professional basketball player, but he said: ‘You’re not going anywhere'”… “Without him, none of this would be the same… We miss you, we all miss you”, after which he performed the song “I miss you”.
During the concert, Grašo also mentioned Doris Dragović, which performs on Thursday in Split:
“Tonight the greatest diva and my great friend Doris is not with us, but she is waiting for you tomorrow. Split is the center of the world these days.”
He included the audience in the performance of the song “Što je od mene ostalo”, and the evening was additionally enriched by the song “Uvik isti”, during which photos of musical greats such as Dino DvornikOliver Dragojevic i Mišo Kovač.
The concert on Split’s Riva once again confirmed why Petar Grašo has held a special place on the domestic music scene for three decades – with emotion, hits and an audience that follows him in every verse.
