The Easter holidays were characterized by relatively low crime, but still ended with some cases of violence in South Greenland.
Greenland Police’s Easter was of course marked by the accident at Nuuk, where an avalanche hit four people on a snowmobile on Saturday and led to the death of a young man.
But measured in terms of crime, the police had a relatively quiet Easter weekend, says duty officer Aputsiaq Hansen on Monday.
However, there have just been two cases of violence in South Greenland, he elaborates.
On Monday morning, the police responded to a report of a man hitting and kicking a woman. It took place in a private home in Nanortalik.
The matter became even more serious as children were present. That is why the police have also involved the social authorities, says the warden.
A man in Qaqortoq has also been reported for hitting a woman in the head.
