The municipality of Budva announced that getting out of the blockade is a technical issue, and that it will be resolved as soon as possible.
The local administration strongly rejects, as they state, malicious and politically motivated attempts to present the current blocking of accounts as a consequence of the work of the current local administration.
“We are talking about execution based on a court case initiated in 2007, which ended with the judgment of the High Court, which was appealed. Anyone who has an elementary understanding of the legal system knows that no government can ‘look at the ball’ and predict when and in what way such a procedure will be completed. All contrary claims are a deliberate deception of the public. It is equally incorrect and manipulative to try to attribute responsibility to the Municipality of Budva for the nationalization of land in 1960. “That decision was not made by the municipality, but by the state at that time, and the land was registered as state property. If someone is persistently looking for the political culprit, let him look where he really belongs in the system and at the time when such a policy was implemented, that is, in the then Communist Party of Yugoslavia,” emphasized the Municipality of Budva.
As they emphasize, “it is especially devastating and extremely hypocritical that today the loudest critics come from the ranks of those who, after 2020, entered into a political marriage with the Democratic Party of Socialists, through the model of a minority government that was openly controlled by the DPS, without any leeway.”
“For a year and a half, they sat in armchairs, performed public functions, received salaries and unquestioningly implemented the political dictates of the same structure that today they try to present as someone else’s responsibility. Citizens also remember the period of the government of Dritan Abazović, formed with the support of Milo Đukanović, when the symbol of such governance was the famous ‘600 seats deep’. Those who today try to teach moral lessons sat in that system, used privileges, assigned personnel and kept silent about everything that is allegedly bothering them today”, they state from the Municipality and add:
“That’s why we clearly tell them that they are trying in vain to invoke a crisis and create panic. The citizens of Budva know who was where and what they were doing when the real levers of government were decided. Getting out of the blockade is a technical issue that will be resolved in the shortest possible time. The finances of the Municipality of Budva are stable, the system is functioning and all obligations, including the wages of employees, will be properly settled within the legally stipulated period. Everything else is cheap political spin without a foothold in reality,” the statement concludes.
