In the report on Albania for the year 2025, approved by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, the issue of parliamentary immunity is also mentioned, as a reference to the case of Belinda Balluk, former deputy prime minister and former minister, for whom SPAK requested the arrest, but the socialists with their votes, prevented it by not removing her immunity.
The report, which was approved with 58 votes in favor, 7 against and 7 abstentions, underlines the fact that the issue of immunity must be handled strictly in accordance with constitutional provisions and established legal procedures, without political interference and without unjustified delays.

We recall that a month ago, SPAK addressed the Assembly with a request to remove the immunity of MP Belinda Balluku, accused of violating equality in the Llogara tunnel tender, as well as under investigation for a series of other tendering procedures in the Lots of the Great Ring.
The Socialists postponed the meeting of the Council of Mandates and Immunity for some time, while then in the Assembly, they rejected the request with their votes. SPAK has also launched a property investigation against Balluk.
