The Mercedes-Benz truck driven by Alfaro directly hit Juan Martínez Torres (54) while he was sitting doing his job, in an event that was recorded by security cameras.

The investigations confirmed that Alfaro Cerna, a businesswoman who was in control of the car, had her expired certificate from 2022. After the collision, the woman was taken to the Buenos Aires police station for the corresponding procedures, while the vehicle involved showed material damage to its front part.
The health status of Juan Martínez Torres is currently classified as critical and with reserved prognosis in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Belén Hospital. The victim is found unconscious and intubated after confirming multiple fractures in the ribs, pelvis and serious injuries to the spine and one of his legs.
The worker’s family reported serious irregularities in the initial police report, where the injuries were attributed to a “fall from height” instead of the attack. This official version is contrary to the security camera recordings that recorded the exact moment in which The truck rams the guard into a wallleaving it serious.
Rosmery Martínez, sister of the victim, publicly questioned the reasons why the police report suggests that her brother fell from a roof.
According to testimonies from neighbors and familythe occupants of the car would have tried to leave the scene of the accident before being intercepted by a motorcyclist and other residents.
