Lawyer Luka Misetic confirms that the announcement of the verdict for Thaçi and others has been postponed to July 20

The final decision in the trial of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague has been postponed to July 20, 2026.
The confirmation of the postponement of the announcement of the verdict was made to RTK by the lawyer of the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, Luka Mishetić, who in a response to RTK confirmed the accuracy of the information reported in the media.
“I can confirm that this is correct,” Misetic stated in his response to the question of whether the reporting on the postponement of the decision to July 20 is accurate.
Initially, the final decision was scheduled to be announced on May 19, within the established procedural deadlines. However, according to the Rules of Procedure of the Special Court, the trial panel has 90 days to announce the verdict, with the possibility of an extension of up to an additional 60 days.
Thus, the epilogue of one of the most important court trials in The Hague against former KLA leaders is expected to be made public on July 20, 2026.
