The Greater Mafraq Municipality, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, launched a field campaign to remove stalls and encroachments on sidewalks in the commercial center, as part of its ongoing efforts to organize markets, improve the service reality, and restore flow and vitality to the region.
The head of the Mafraq Municipality Committee, Dr. Muhammad Khalaf Al-Fayez, confirmed that this campaign came in response to an urgent need to organize the commercial center, stressing that sidewalks were created to serve pedestrians, and it is not permissible to encroach on them in any way.
He added that the municipality is continuing to firmly implement the necessary measures to ensure a safe and comfortable shopping environment free of chaos and obstacles, in a way that serves citizens and preserves the public interest.
Al-Fayez stated that the campaign is continuing as part of an integrated plan aimed at organizing the commercial community and achieving justice among all, calling on the owners of stalls and shops to cooperate and adhere to the instructions, stressing that partnership with the local community constitutes the basic foundation for the success of these efforts.
For his part, Director of the Municipality’s Health Department, Khaled Al-Shalabi, explained that the directorate’s cadres are intensifying their daily visits to the markets as part of an ongoing monitoring plan, to remove infringements and illegal stands, noting that the campaign is being implemented with direct field follow-up, and with the participation of the specialized work teams, to ensure the achievement of the desired goals.
He pointed out that this campaign comes within the framework of the Greater Mafraq Municipality’s endeavor to strengthen order within the markets and improve the urban landscape, which will reflect positively on commercial activity and the safety of citizens.
