The president GOLD, George Simionsaid on Monday, April 27, after the announcement of the joint no-confidence motion PSD – AUR that his formation will sign the document together with the other parties that want to support it.

The leader of the AUR stated that the motion will be submitted when the 233 signatures needed to initiate the parliamentary procedure will be collected.

“We will sign the censure motion with the other parties, and here I mean all the interested parliamentarians. When we have collected 233 signatures, the motion will be submitted,” said George Simion.

He also announced the estimated deadline for the vote in Parliament, claiming that May 5 could mark a change at the top of the Executive.

“If everything goes according to the plan, on May 5 we will have a vote for the removal of the Bolojan Government, a Government that obviously no longer has popular support, if it ever did. They did not tell you, the Romanians, what the strategy was, they did not tell you that they would freeze pensions, they did not tell you that they would cut the CASS from mothers, they did not tell you that they would increase the VAT”, the AUR leader also declared.

“Their concern is how to get more loan money. From what will we pay them? From the sale, at a much lower price than the deserved one, of the state’s assets. We submit this motion also to stop the sale of the Romanians’ strategic assets,” Simion said.

Petrișor Peiu: “The goal is to reach early elections”

Marian Neacșu held press statements on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Palace of the Parliament, where he announced, together with Petrișor Peiu, the initiation of a motion of censure against the prime minister Ilia Bolojan.

The two conveyed that the document will be drafted jointly and that they count on sufficient parliamentary support for the adoption of the motion.

“Following several rounds of discussions between the leaderships of our parties, it was decided that Mr. Petrișor Peiu and I would take care of the technical part of a joint censure motion. That is why we are here today. The work we will take care of is exclusively technical.

The political approach will probably be explained during this day by the presidents of the parties. As you know, we have convened a national permanent office at 2:00 p.m. where the final decision will be made. (…) We are jointly writing a no-confidence motion, we hope it will pass. We have a plan”, said Marian Neacșu.

Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, said: “The goal is to reach early elections.”
