Belize City police are investigating a deadly shooting that unfolded in broad daylight along the Philip Goldson Highway. We are told that one man died and another was injured.
Authorities say the victims, identified as Hubert Baptist and Eric Fraser, were targeted shortly after 3:00 p.m. while travelling near Mile 4, in the area of the Haulover Bridge.
Both men came under heavy gunfire during the incident.
According to reports, a midsize SUV chased the victims’ vehicle, pulled alongside, and a gunman opened fire, with more than a dozen shots heard.
The vehicle lost control and flipped.
