SAN MARINO – Free intervenes on the latter definitive confiscations of the “Mazzini account” stating that, the conclusion of the judicial process which, the party underlines, has worked and has run its course: “The total amount of the confiscated sums amounts to almost 3 million euros, to which are added real estate and company shareholdings. Millions of euros. A significant result which adds to what has already been definitively acquired against the other defendants.
It’s an outcome – he says Free – which confirms the solidity of the prosecution system and the work carried out by the investigators and the judiciary throughout the entire trial process. A not simple path, often accompanied by controversies and attempts at delegitimisation, which today finds clear confirmation even in the final phase of execution.
For Free this represents an important step. It is not a question of claiming results, but of recognizing a fact: justice has taken its course and has done so to the end, returning resources to the community and strengthening the principle that no one is above the rules.
This is exactly the political point. The credibility of institutions depends on the State’s ability to complete proceedings, guarantee legal certainty and protect the general interest.
For this reason we hope that the same path can continue with determination on other relevant proceedings, such as the Securities Case, so that we continue to strengthen citizens’ trust in the institutions.
Libera will continue to work in this direction, with seriousness, balance and equidistance, pursuing exclusively the country’s interest. It is a line that we have always held and that we will continue to carry forward, convinced that only through transparency, responsibility and respect for the rules can the credibility of the Republic be consolidated”, he concludes Free.
