The spokeswoman of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) and councilor of that party in the Budva Municipal Council, Jovana Todorović, spoke after the account of the Municipality of Budva was unblocked.
“Dear citizens of Budva, well, it can be done when pressure is applied. The account of the Municipality of Budva was unblocked not because of goodwill, not because of responsibility, but because the so-called president of the municipality and the “financial magician” finally found himself in a dead end. Let’s be clear right away: this is not their victory, this is their defeat! And let them know that every time citizens are held hostage by someone’s dubious decisions, we will be there to exert even stronger pressure,” said Todorović.
He adds that he will not allow citizens to suffer because of someone’s inaction, combinations and political games.
“And as for the “financial magician” himself, the so-called president of the municipality, he should be ashamed of himself. He succeeded in what only the DPS managed to do, to bring the richest municipality to a blockade and leave employees and citizens in complete uncertainty. And when he is talking about the porno-criminal government, it would be fair for the citizens to explain which of those two words is better. Because the same so-called president of the municipality regularly sits both in the cabinet and in famous Budva restaurants with to the ministers and high officials of PES. So we ask him who pays for those lunches? And are those lunches paid for from the budget item called “representation”?” asks Todorović.
He says that citizens also deserve answers to more questions.
“How did the account block happen in the first place? How is it possible that the municipality was without a cent for five days, even though the revenues were generated from the beginning of the year until today? Where did the 20 million euros of transferred funds from the previous year go? There are many questions, but there are no concrete answers, only meager philosophical answers full of manipulation,” says Todorović.
She also called on the prosecution to seriously deal with this case.
“We are sure that if we scratched a little deeper under the surface, we would get more than interesting answers. And we tell the citizens to stay awake, because obviously, the only thing that works in this municipality is pressure. Not a step back!” concluded Todorović.
