Recovery through music at Al-Rusafa Rehabilitation Center
Baghdad – time
The Women’s Affairs Division in the Musical Arts Department, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Department in the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and within the National Anti-Drug Strategy, launched last Wednesday the “Recovery with Music” program at the Rusafa First Rehabilitation Center of the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs. The program extends over a full month and aims to support the psychological state of the beneficiaries through music therapy sessions presented by the artist Muhammad Ali Imam, which contributes to enhancing feelings of hope and optimism, and supporting paths of recovery and reintegration into society. The program comes as a continuation of previous efforts at the Karkh Rehabilitation Center, where the sessions showed positive interaction that reflects the effectiveness of the arts in supporting psychological rehabilitation. It also consolidates the adoption of music as a supportive therapeutic method to promote recovery, psychological stability, and societal reintegration.
