A serious traffic accident happened today in the afternoon on the A3 highway near Sredanac in the direction of Bregana.
The operational and communication center of the Brod-Posavina Police Department received the report about the traffic accident at 2:18 p.m. There was a fire in a truck in which there was one person.
– The vehicle from the southbound lane of the highway broke through the central protective fence and ended up in the northbound traffic lane, hitting a power line. All emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and an investigation will follow, which will determine the facts and circumstances related to the said event – say the Brod-Posavina police.
They also note that traffic is moving slowly in the southern lane from 2:52 p.m., and from 3:24 p.m. in the northern lane.
According to HAK, driving is slow through the Sredanci rest stop, and the line is about three kilometers long.
According to unofficial information from the local SB online portalthe driver was trapped in the vehicle and died. It is allegedly about an elderly foreign citizen from Sj. of Macedonia.
The exact cause of the accident will be known after the investigation.
