Hajduk won the last Croatian championship title in the 2004/2005 season, and since then more than two decades of waiting, numerous changes, disappointments and new hopes have passed. Despite everything, Hajduk still has one of the most loyal fan bases in the region, but the coveted title every year still remains an elusive goal. This is exactly why we asked the people of Split what they think, when Hajduk will become champion again.
– Honestly, I don’t know if I will live to see it. It’s hard for me to say anything because it is no longer known who drinks and who pays. A lot is heard, a lot is known, but no one will tell the truth openly and without reservation – an elderly fellow citizen told us, noticeably disappointed with the long-term situation in the club.
– The structure in the club is not good. Too many questions are asked of the fans, and not enough of the people who should lead sports policy and make responsible decisions – the younger man from Split told us.
