During the laboratory control, the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) detected salmonella in the marinated chicken steaks “Bajoru” produced by the Lithuanian company “Krekenavos agrofirma”, according to the information published by the PVD.
The sample was taken from SIA “Latprodukti” store.Mere” in Liepāja. The product has expired and is no longer available for sale.
An excess amount of trans-fatty acids was found in “Asia” candies from Kazakhstan. The majority, namely 510 kilograms (kg) of a total of 540 kg of candies, reached the Swedish market, which was informed by the Swedish competent supervisory authority. At the same time, 30 kg of candies intended for the Latvian market were destroyed.
A notification has been placed in the Rapid Alert System of the European Union about the findings.
In turn, the competent Finnish supervisory authority will be informed about the distance selling website “vitamins.lv” registered in Finland, through which unregistered nutritional supplements are distributed on the territory of Latvia.
