In celebration of Earth Day, the Palau Conservation Society (PCS) joined forces with Isla Petroleum & Energy (IP&E) in a collaborative effort to protect Palau’s coastal environment through a large-scale cleanup and invasive species removal initiative.
The activity, hosted by Rubekul Belau and the Earth Day Committee, brought together community members, partners, and youth volunteers, including the Choll youth group, who played a central role in the hands-on conservation work.
Participants conducted coastal cleanups to remove marine debris while also targeting invasive plant species that threaten native ecosystems. These efforts contribute directly to preserving Palau’s biodiversity, protecting marine life, and maintaining the health of coastal habitats that are vital to local communities.
As part of this strengthened partnership, IP&E has generously contributed $10,000 to PCS to support ongoing environmental programs and collaborative conservation efforts across Palau. This contribution will help expand community-based initiatives, youth engagement, and continued efforts to address pressing environmental challenges.
