    The President of the Republic of Bulgaria is on a working visit to Armenia in order to participate in the European Political Community Summit. President Vahagn Khachaturyan, welcoming his counterpart, thanked him for visiting Armenia and participating in the important international summit in Yerevan.

    The President stressed that the continuous development of friendly relations and close cooperation with Bulgaria is of great importance for Armenia, considering also the signed joint declaration on strategic partnership, which is the bilateral readiness to further deepen multi-sectoral cooperation. Iliana Yotova thanked for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing that there are established traditions of cooperation between Bulgaria and Armenia, which contribute to the strengthening and expansion of multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the parties referred to the prospects of expanding bilateral economic cooperation, reaffirming the commitment to developing trade and economic cooperation. The activity of the Armenia-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an effective platform for the activation of business ties and the implementation of new initiatives was emphasized. The interlocutors also discussed issues related to the agenda of international cooperation. The President of the Republic informed that in October 2026, Armenia will host COP17, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be preceded by the leaders’ summit scheduled for October 16, 2026 in Yerevan. In this context, President Khachaturyan expressed hope that the Bulgarian side will participate in the summit at a high level. The sides also referred to regional developments, stressing that the established peace in the region creates new opportunities for the promotion of interregional ties and the promotion of communication programs. In this context, the “Trump Path for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project was highlighted. The significance of the further development of cooperation in the Black Sea region, which was considered as an important platform for expanding Armenia’s transit and infrastructural capabilities, was also highlighted. During the meeting, the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations and institutional development was highlighted. cooperation in all directions of mutual interest, contributing to the further strengthening and development of Armenia-Bulgaria relations. Special attention was paid to the importance of sharing best practices in the direction of the development and strengthening of democratic institutions and, if necessary, the introduction of joint efforts.
