On the Armenian Genocide Memorial Day, we remember the 1.5 million Armenians who were killed during the terrible genocide 111 years ago.
I am proud to have been the Speaker of the House of Representatives when Congress officially recognized the Armenian Genocide. And I was honored to lead the Congressional delegation to visit Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex and to pay tribute to the memory of the men, women and children who were killed.
By confirming the history of this tragedy, we are working to ensure that such horror never happens again.
