The President of the Government of Serbia, Đuro Macut, laid a wreath today and paid his respects to the victims of the children and the custodian of the “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School, who were killed three years ago today.
Their parents, friends, as well as other citizens pay their respects to the murdered by signing in the Book of Remembrance this morning from 8:40, which is the time when the crime was committed.
The part of Kralja Milutin Street, where the school is located, was closed to traffic and turned into a “space of silence”.
The memorial service for the victims will be held in the Church of St. Mark from 4:30 p.m.
In the “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School in the center of Belgrade on May 3, 2023, a thirteen-year-old student of KK killed nine students and a school guard, and injured six people.
A day later, on May 4, 2023, twenty-one-year-old Uroš Blažić killed nine and wounded thirteen people in the villages of Orašje and Dubona near Mladenovac.
In 2024, the Government of Serbia made a decision to establish May 3 and 4 as the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the mass murders that took place in the “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School and in the villages of Orašje and Dubona.
