Conxita Marsol has put on the table the need to strengthen the control and regulation of room rental in Andorraas in the case of platforms like Rooms.ad. Thus, the Government of Andorra will study if the activity it is regulated enough and he does not rule out promoting regulatory changes, as he confirmed in a press conference this morning.
As he explained marsolthe current legislation ofleases establishes what permission from the owner is required to be able sublet a home or parts of ita requirement that, as he has admitted, “is most likely not met in all cases”. In this regard, he noted that, at the very least, any room rental activity should have the corresponding authorizations.
The minister has announced that they will carry out inspections to verify that the homes that are intended for the temporary rental of rooms comply with the current regulations. In addition, he has warned that this practice could be considered a commercial activity, which would imply the need for a specific activity permit. “From the moment rooms are re-let, an activity comparable to that of a pension is being carried out”, he indicated marsolwho has insisted that this entails clear legal obligations.
marsol has acknowledged that, from his point of view, the rental of rooms “is not sufficiently regulated” a Andorra. Therefore, the Government undertakes to analyze the situation and, if necessary, establish a clearer regulation that allows this activity under defined conditions and with all legal guarantees.
