Landfills are growing, the waste management system is declining, and recycling is at an all-time low – according to official data, only about 0.5 percent of waste was recycled in 2023. At the same time, illegal dumps are springing up across the country, and responsibility for this state of affairs often remains unclear.
How visible is the problem in your everyday life? Do you have the conditions to separate waste and are the institutions doing their job?
The editorial office of Vijesti, as part of the preparation of an article on waste management and possible abuses in this sector, is launching a short survey among citizens.
We invite you to share your experience and opinion through the survey below. Your answers can help to more clearly map the problems on the ground and initiate a wider public discussion.
The questionnaire was created based on the article “Landfills are growing, the system is going backwards: During 2023, 0.5 percent of waste was recycled, which is a drastic decrease compared to 2018.”
