Detachments of the People’s National Army in the Operational Sector in Guzzam (6th Military Region) were able to eliminate two armed smugglers of foreign nationality and recover two Kalashnikov machine guns and a quantity of ammunition, according to what was reported on Saturday by a statement by the Ministry of Defense.
The same source explained, “In continuation of the efforts made by units of the People’s National Army, in combating organized crime and smuggling, especially along our border strip, and following the optimal exploitation of information, on May 1, 2026, detachments of the People’s National Army in the operational sector in Guzzam in the 6th Military Region were able to eliminate armed smugglers of foreign nationality and recover two Kalashnikov machine guns, stored and a quantity of ammunition.”
The Ministry of National Defense indicated that “these field results achieved in the field of combating organized crime and smuggling come to confirm once again the readiness and vigilance of members of the People’s National Army in securing our national borders.”
