Ruv reports on Gallup’s new Þjóðarpúls, which examines the support of parties in all six constituencies of the country. Although the Center Party has added ten percent in the Southern Constituency, the Independence Party is the largest in the constituency with 29.3 percent support. The coalition is in third place with 17.3 percent.
The coalition has the highest support in four constituencies out of six, i.e. both Reykjavík constituencies, the Southwest Constituency and the North East Constituency.
There is a considerable difference in the latter, as Samfylkingin has a support of 33.7 percent, followed by the Center Party with 15.9 percent. There is not much difference between the Center Party and the Independence Party, but it has a support of 15.7 percent.
In all but one of the constituencies, the Samfylking Party, the Independence Party and the Central Party are in the top three places. It is in Reykjavík electorate north that Viðreisn beats the Central Party with fourteen percent support against 9.6 percent.
The Independence Party then concedes in the South West Constituency. In the last election, the party won the most votes there, or 23.4 percent, but now Samfylkingin has 27 percent support. It does not seem to be at the expense of the Independence Party, which today measures 23 percent. The Left Greens then double their support in the constituency, going from 1.5 percent in the election to three percent.
