As announced by the Presidency, together with the second half of the leaders of Croatia, Poland, Estonia, Moldova, and Albania, D. Nausėdienė discussed “positive opportunities for soft power in a rapidly changing world, as well as initiatives that unite many countries, such as the Global Coalition for the Welfare of Children on the Internet.”
According to the representatives of the Presidency, the first lady emphasized that soft power networking has become global in recent years and unites dozens of spouses of heads of state on all continents, mobilizing them for active activities for the common goals of the international community: peace, prosperity and humanism.
D. Nausėdienė emphasized that soft power has always been the art of persuasion – creating changes not through power, but through values, not through coercion, but through culture, understanding and cooperation.
“Soft power preserves what makes us human: memory, culture, language and the quiet dignity of differences, and at the same time – pays special attention to children, their well-being, education, safety, physical activity – creates the future of the world,” said D. Nausėdienė.
According to the Presidency, the first lady also noted that each spouse of the head of state implements important initiatives in his country, and the opportunity to share experience and join forces helps create global changes.
It is true that such words of D. Nausėdienė did not go unnoticed on social networks – some internet users remembered another speech given by the first lady last year, which simply blew up the public space.
Then D. Nausėdienė spoke about the “multiplication of the spiral of social self-destruction”, but she stopped speaking and did not say anything for several seconds.
Some criticized such a language at the time for its complexity and sophistication, even speculating that it was written by artificial intelligence. Single jokes can be seen in the social space even now.
