Actress Emily Blunt, during the promotional tour for the film “The Devil Wears Prada 2”, has shared a career advice that has provoked numerous reactions on social networks, especially in the context of the current economic situation.
Asked what advice she would give to women who are unhappy with their jobs, Blunt initially responded jokingly, saying: “Resign… No.” She then followed up with a more serious answer.
“Just find something that, deep down, you want to do.” she said. “Even if you don’t earn money from it, as long as you love it, you will be happy”, said the actress.
For many, this advice seemed difficult to accept, especially at a time when many are facing an uncertain economy and the ever-increasing cost of living. For them, leaving a job without financial security can have serious and long-term consequences.
An extensive discussion took place on the “Reddit” platform, where many users disagreed with the statement: “In this economy?”, “The reality is, if you don’t like your job, the ideal is to leave – but if you need the money, find another job first and then quit”, “Hopes and dreams don’t pay the rent”, “Bad question for a rich person”, were some of the comments.
However, there were those who defended Blunt, pointing out that perhaps she should have been more careful with her words in the interview.
“I don’t think Emily had it worse. She tried to answer as best she could,” “There’s no answer that wouldn’t trigger the ‘she’s privileged’ team,” sothers wrote.
