The owner of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Luis Jimenezsupervised a mega-operation carried out simultaneously in nine youth centers in the country and the Annex III of the Lima Youth Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center (CJDRL)as part of the security strategy aimed at strengthen the principle of authority.
The intervention included the participation of the National Police, the Public Ministry, INPE personnel, PRONACEJ security agents and members of the General Volunteer Firefighters Corps.
“We are carrying out exhaustive interventions in coordination with the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office, in addition to having the support of INPE workers and also the Firefighters, whom we thank”said the minister during the operation.

During the intervention in Lima Youth Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Centerthe authorities found sharp weapons and other prohibited objects inside the inspected pavilions.
In Piura Two cell phones were also seized, while in Trujillo Other mobile equipment was found, considered restricted elements within these establishments.
Luis Jimenez showed some blunt objects handcrafted with padlocks and clothing, warning of the danger they represent. “It could be like a weapon of defense or attack”he asserted.

The minister explained that this type of operation not only seeks to reinforce internal security, but also to guarantee that young people interned can complete a true process of rehabilitation and social reintegration.
According to him, the objective is to prevent minors from leaving these centers to repeat criminal activities or be recruited by criminal organizations. “I congratulate the mega-operation and also the constant concern that the directors of the centers have for prevention,” he added.
Likewise, he highlighted that the sector promotes educational and productive workshops aimed at the resocialization of adolescents in conflict with the law.

The mega-operation mobilized 147 PRONACEJ security agents, 216 members of the National Police, 14 members of the Canine Unit, 40 penitentiary agents, 22 representatives of the Public Ministry and three members of the General Fire Department.
The inspections were carried out in the youth centers of Lima, Saint Margaret, Miguel Grau from Piura, Alfonso Ugarte from Arequipa, José A. Quiñones from Chiclayo, Marcavalle from Cusco, The Tambo from Huancayo, Trujillo, Pucallpa and the Annex III of the CJDR Lima.
From Piura, the executive director of PRONACEJLuis Vega, supervised the intervention in a decentralized manner and pointed out that these preventive actions seek to protect the youth rehabilitation and reintegration process throughout the country.
