Slobodna Dalmacija – The new CUPRA Born takes over the roads with pure electric performance, pushing the boundaries and embodying the brand’s latest DNA

CUPRA continues to push boundaries and challenge conventions with the new Born. The brand’s first all-electric model is evolving into an even sharper and more emotional challenger, redesigned to bring a striking new design, improved interior and higher level of technology.

Slobodna Dalmacija – The King of the Netherlands awarded a Croatian scientist, he entered the prestigious order that has existed since 1892.

The new, bolder CUPRA Born takes performance to the next level, building on the success of more than 170,000 vehicles sold worldwide since its launch in 2021. With a range of up to 631 kilometers, power up to 240 kW (326 hp) and innovations such as Matrix LED lights, the new CUPRA Born further strengthens the brand’s identity as an unconventional challenger.

Designed and developed in Barcelona, the new CUPRA Born will be manufactured in Zwickau, Germany. It embodies the progressive spirit of the CUPRA brand, combining electrification with performance, sustainability with style and digitization with emotion. The start of production is planned for May 2026, while the market launch is scheduled for the summer of 2026.

The more provocative exterior design radiates pure emotion in every line and every detail, shaped to convey character and performance. The design of the Born model is a natural evolution that embodies the energy of the brand, pushing its boundaries to a new level. The iconic “shark nose” front end defines the upper part of the vehicle and harmoniously continues into the Matrix LED headlights with three triangular elements, which form the recognizable light signature of the CUPRA brand. The whole is completed by a unique new welcome light ceremony, which further emphasizes the style and sense of drama even before entering the vehicle.

Lower at the front, a new central grille with a parametric design contributes to refinement and improved aerodynamic efficiency. The recognizable horizontal “blade” line is now more technically pronounced and finished in copper color – a detail that emphasizes the identity of the CUPRE and further confirms its DNA. On each side of the hood, air ducts and C‑shaped elements direct the flow of air, optimizing efficiency and emphasizing the vehicle’s character.

The rear section leaves a strong emotional impression thanks to the new bumper and trunk lid. The more pronounced diffuser further emphasizes the sporty DNA of the Born model, while the contrasting color combination visually lowers the rear part to the ground, reduces mass and gives the vehicle a more stable and decisive attitude. All elements harmoniously follow one another, radiating power and ensuring that the exterior design of the Born is not only striking, but also aerodynamically efficient.

The refreshed interior of the CUPRE Born continues to push the boundaries of what is expected, bringing deeper digital integration, richer tactile details of top quality and a strong focus on environmental sustainability. CUPRA Born further emphasizes the emotional character and driver orientation, faithfully building on the spirit of the original all-electric model.

In addition to the new 12.9‑inch infotainment screen, framed by an illuminated sliding strip, the new 10.25‑inch digital instrument display (previously 5.3″) provides a significantly more impressive and clearer experience, allowing the driver to see the most important information more clearly. The return of physical buttons increases precision and responsiveness, enabling easier and more natural control of key functions, creating a more direct and confident feeling of connection with the vehicle. Home charging solutions CUPRA wallbox allow full control over charging at home, while the My CUPRA app provides simple and seamless access to thousands of public charging stations.

But the new CUPRA Born does not only deliver impressive numbers. It also introduces a number of advanced driving technologies that further deepen the emotional connection between the driver and the car. The One‑pedal driving function enables acceleration and deceleration to be controlled solely with the gas pedal. By letting off the gas, the vehicle automatically slows down via regenerative braking, returning energy to the battery and reducing the need to use the brakes. This technology provides smoother deceleration, greater energy efficiency and a more intuitive driving experience, especially in urban conditions and stop-and-go traffic, where the vehicle can come to a complete stop without pressing the brake pedal.

The new CUPRA Born VZ is the most powerful version in the range with a focus on performance. Available from the very launch of the model, it proves that electrification and top performance are the perfect combination. The 240 kW (326 hp) electric motor delivers an instant 545 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds (0–50 km/h in just 2.6 s), while the top speed increases to 200 km/h. Despite the higher power, the vehicle maintains an exceptional electric range – up to 631 km thanks to the battery with a capacity of 79 kWh. Fast charging from 10 to 80% is possible in just 29 minutes with up to 183 kW DC charging.

Energy recovery is extremely intuitive thanks to regenerative levers behind the steering wheel, which allow the driver to instantly control energy recovery. As soon as the gas pedal is released, the electric motor goes into generator mode, returning energy to the battery, increasing efficiency and reducing brake wear.

Digitization forms the very core of the new CUPRA Born model. With the introduction of Mobile Device Key (Beta)*, drivers can unlock, start the vehicle and share access via smartphone, using Ultra‑Wide Band technology. It is possible to share up to four digital keys (Beta), with the fifth reserved for the primary user. Additional functions such as Open on Approach and Walk Away Lock further increase the level of convenience, while the Smart Card allows temporary access to the vehicle.

The CUPRE Born’s advanced safety systems ensure that this high-performance electric model remains one of the safest and most intuitive vehicles in its segment. Developed to actively support the driver, these technologies reflect a commitment to intelligent protection and confident, dynamic driving. Born offers not only the dynamic performance expected from the CUPRA brand, but also a high level of safety, reliability and peace of mind.
