Few people today remember that the phrase “the deed didn’t happen”, which describes political interference in the work of the police, was heard in connection with the murder of Róbert Remiáš.
From the mouth of a person who thirty years ago stood at the head of the government and was responsible for the peoplewho ordered the murder of the clutch of the crown witness in the kidnapping of the president’s son.
It is also eloquent that Vladimír Mečiar he uttered this sentence in parliament after the then special prosecutor Dušan Kováčik stopped the prosecution of the former boss SIS Ivan Lexa for ordering the murder.

“This means that there was no influence or ordering of the murder. It was decided by the one who was supposed to decide on it. The rest of you are gagaji, taraji and, for me, przyus,” Mečiar concluded one of the most traumatic events in modern history.
Today, thousands of people walk daily by tram or car past the cross and wreaths reminding of the pain of the mother and the trauma of the society, without realizing that the perpetrators of this murder still live in Slovakia and are at large.
