Ferenčák: I was physically assaulted on Saturday, in front of my daughter – Domáce – Správy

“I was insulted by a blow to the head. I fell, then maybe if I hadn’t fallen, the attack would have continued. When I stood up, my blood was flowing and my head was spinning, and I saw this person running back to the room where an event was ending,” Ferenčák said, adding that he immediately contacted the police. He is also considering some form of protection.

The deputy ended up in the emergency room, where he was treated. I still have headaches and dizziness, he said, adding that his treatment will continue. According to his words, Joj came to the TV show to announce this to the citizens of Slovakia.

Ján Ferenčák, Matúš Šutaj Eštok Read also “Lies and fabrications.” The Hlas party rejects Ferenčák’s claims and wants the intervention of the media council

“People who first tried it through the security forces, then they wanted to discredit me and my family criminally, then through the media area, yesterday it resulted in a physical attack by a person who was waiting for me and in the presence of my daughter. I was insulted with a blow to the head, I fell, then maybe if I hadn’t fallen, the attack would have continued. And when I stood up, where I was bleeding, my head was spinning, I saw this person running into the room, where an event ended,” said Ferenčák.

The bottom that I talked about, where “these people” are able to go, has been broken through, the deputy added. He also called the police, state and municipal, according to him, the municipal arrived within five minutes. Regarding the call to state police, he says they informed him they were locating him, but they didn’t respond until nearly two hours after the incident, and he says the question is why it took so long. The police told me that they had opened an ex offo prosecution, he said.

He asks if it should be understood as another reference, for example for not voting in parliament. “As I mentioned, the security forces are still deployed on me, they are still moving in my region,” he said, adding that he has information about it, which he will publish only after the departure of the Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok and the head of the inspection Branislav Zurian from the leadership of the police, because “we know how these persons would deal with this information”. Asked if he was considering applying for protection, he said he did not know “if these two people are providing protection, what would that mean for my protection”.

According to Ferenčák, the attack is at the stage of criminal proceedings. He expects the attacker to be tracked down and to say who ordered him, what was his intent and purpose. According to his words, he ended up in the emergency room with injuries. “I have been recommended further treatments as I am still not well,” he noted.

According to him, the person of Šutaj Eštok is the key to the coalition ruling. His dismissal would bring down the government, he claims.

“These people will not intimidate me, because if they intimidate me, they will be able to afford it against anyone in Slovakia,” he said. Ferenčák wants to run for mayor of Kežmark again, but will run as an independent candidate in the autumn municipal elections. When asked if he would join the Smer party again, he replied that “not for now”.

The police started a criminal investigation

The police are intensively investigating the case of an attack on an unclassified member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and the mayor of Kežmarek, Ján Ferenčák, on Saturday (April 25) at the Kežmar winter stadium. “The Kežmarsk investigator has started a criminal prosecution for the crime of assault on a public official and disorderly conduct,” the Prešov Regional Police reported on the social network.

On Saturday, late in the evening, the operations officer of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force (PZ) in Prešov received a report via line 158 that Ján F was physically attacked by an unknown person at the winter stadium in Kežmark.

“According to initial information, the man Ján F. was physically attacked by an unknown person after the sports event, and this physical attack required him to be treated in a medical facility,” the police further confirmed.

He wants to negotiate with the prime minister about the dismissal of Šutaj Eštok

Non-affiliated member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Ján Ferenčák wants to initiate a meeting with Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer) in connection with the dismissal of Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD). He continues to stand behind the reasons for his dismissal. As he stated, this is the criminalization of his person through a police inspection and misconduct at the Department of the Interior. He said this in the Sunday discussion show Politika 24 on Joj 24.

At the same time, he pointed out that he had already called on the Prime Minister to act on this issue. However, he thinks that the dismissal of Šutaj Eštok could lead to the collapse of the government. “When he finishes, the Hlas party will be the one to sink this government. Robert Fico is well aware that early elections are his appeal,” he said. He also announced that he would submit a proposal for his dismissal and called on the opposition to support him.

According to his words, he will participate in the July referendum, but he questions its significance due to the costs. He called it “a pre-election survey worth ten million”.

He once again refused to support Petr Kažimír for the post of governor of the National Bank of Slovakia. According to him, the reason is that he is one of the founders and creators of the Hlas party.

Ferenčák also commented on the claims about his financial situation. “My assets are published, I only have them in Slovakia, they are all there. I have documented my income. This is the end of the matter for me,” he added.

ÚMS condemned the attack on Ferenčák

The Union of Slovak Cities (ÚMS) strongly condemns Saturday’s (April 25) physical attack on the mayor of Kežmarok and non-affiliated member of the Slovak National Council, Ján Ferenčák, who is the vice president of the ÚMS. “We consider any violence in public space, even more so against elected representatives of local government, to be absolutely inadmissible,” declared the ÚMS.

Matúš Šutaj Eštok / Robert Fico / Read more Eštok flatly denied that he had anything to do with the attack on Ferenčák. It was right to exclude him from the Voice

At the same time, she pointed out that in a democratic and decent society, conflict resolution must be based on dialogue, not on physical aggression. She expressed her support and solidarity to the mayor of Kežmark. At the same time, the association believes that the law enforcement authorities will thoroughly investigate the case and hold the perpetrator accountable.

“The Union of Slovak Cities will always stand on the side of protecting democratic principles, the safety of public officials and citizens, and rejects any manifestations of violence in society,” explained the position of ÚMS spokeswoman Daniela Piršelová.

He will not join any party until the events around him are explained

Ferenčák, who was expelled from the Hlas coalition party, will not join any party until the events surrounding his person are explained. In a discussion session, he answered the question of whether he plans to join Rudolf Huliak’s Rural Party in order to give it a blocking majority against the government coalition. However, according to his own words, the deputy does not plan to join the party and will vote in parliament according to his conscience.

“My political future is – first of all, I will focus on the city,” said the deputy, who is also the mayor of Kežmark. According to his own words, he also wants to defend this post. “I will go as an independent candidate, because the parties that are on the political scene today do not appeal to me,” Ferenčák declared. He added that he can imagine cooperation “with every single personality”.
