Monaco Basket Association have wrapped up a convincing return to Ligue Féminine 2, finishing fifth in their first season back at professional level and laying solid foundations for the future.
With 16 wins from 26 games, the Monegasque side narrowly missed out on a podium place, ending just one point short, but still secured a play-off spot—an achievement that underlined their competitiveness despite a quarter-final exit. The result meets the club’s short-term objective within a broader three-year plan to establish Monaco among the elite of French women’s basketball.
Led by coach Petros Prekas and captain Lysa Millavet, the team has quickly cemented its place in the division, with club leadership expressing confidence ahead of the 2026–2027 campaign. Co-president Eric Elena praised the squad’s impact, describing the first team as both a driving force and a model for younger players across the club’s development system.
Off the court, backing from Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has been strengthened, reinforcing ambitions to build a leading women’s basketball project in the Principality. Chairman and CEO Stéphane Valeri signalled that further investment and new signings are expected as the club looks to push on next season.
With their return season judged a success, attention now turns to the summer rebuild and the next step in Monaco’s climb up the French basketball ladder.
