AYOLAS. The pre-candidate for the Republic, Miguel Prieto (Yo Creo), pointed out that a change in the Ayolense district is more than necessary so that more compatriots have development opportunities. Likewise, he maintained that the Government seeks to stop his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic through a judicial disqualification.
Miguel Prieto He visited different parts of the city, where he held meetings with various social sectors. The tour, accompanied by the senators Esperanza Martínez (PPC) and Rubén Velázquez (I Believe)was part of his agenda in Ayolas.
The activity included his participation in the launch of the candidate for mayor Dennis Dioff and candidates for the Municipal Board for the Let’s Reclaim Paradise Alliance.
During his tour, he visited the Atinguy settlement, on the Itapúa side, where he heard the complaints of fishing families who reside on the banks of the Paraná River, about 3,000 meters from the landfill Aña Cuá of the Yacyretá Hydroelectric Power Plant. Among the main needs mentioned are the lack of electricity, roads in good condition and access to drinking water.
In conversation with ABC Color, Prieto stated that he was able to closely observe the reality of the families who live meters from the Yacyretá dam, but that They do not have electricity service in their homes. He pointed out that this situation shows a strong social contrast between sectors with many deprivations and others with all the comforts.

“That is the objective, to work for reduce inequalities and so that more compatriots have opportunities to develop. For this, change in Ayolas is very necessary,” he expressed. He added that his political project includes various sectors, including liberals, dissident Colorados, members of Yo Creo and leaders from both the left and the right.
Prieto denounces the government for attempting to stop the candidacy
At another time, Prieto stated that he feels that the current Government tries to stop his candidacy through a judicial disqualification. He indicated that to achieve this objective a sentence is required, which is why, as he stated, judicial proceedings against him would be accelerated.
“I am going to continue fighting for my right to be a candidate for the presidency of the Republic. I believe that the National Constitution He has to guarantee that to me, but with this justice you never know. Here we are firm and we are not going to go back,” he concluded.
