The National Police, through Interpol Panama, arrested a woman wanted by the judicial authorities of the United States for her alleged connection with the crime of homicide.
This operation was carried out at the Tocumen International Airport, during immigration verification tasks and international security controls.
Furthermore, the detainee was in transit through Panamanian territory on a flight from Havana, Cuba, with its final destination to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
According to the international alert, the citizen had an arrest warrant issued by a court in the state of Texas, for events related to the death of a person and injuries caused to other victims.
The Panamanian authorities did not reveal the identity of the apprehended woman, in compliance with current international protocols.
The National Police highlighted that Panama, as a logistics and regional connectivity center, maintains strict controls at its entry and exit points, reinforcing cooperation with international organizations to prevent people wanted by justice from using the country as a transit or escape route.
