The bicameral bench of the Republican Coalition will convene Parliament to the Minister of Economy, Gabriel Oddone, and to the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Juan Castillo, for the agreement reached between government and the PIT-CNT in matters of social security.
The opposition coalition was critical of the coincidences between the Executive Branch and the union center, while comparing points of social dialogue with the “Argentine Kirchnerism” and stated that “citizens have already rejected this course” in it plebiscite of 2024.
Specifically, this initiative proposed establishing in the Constitution that the retirement age is 60 years, equate minimum liabilities to the minimum wage and eliminate AFAPs. While one of the points of social dialogue that was reached this week includes the “disconnection of the AFAP from the direct administration” of the funds.
“This way reproduces failed experiences in the regionlike that of Argentine Kirchnerism, where the government ended up appropriating retirement savingsdestroying trust and weakening legal security,” says the note from the deputies of the Republican Coalition.
“It is intended replace a system where the worker chooses and controlson the other where he remains captive. That is not an improvement: it is a setback,” the letter adds.
The text states that “citizens have already rejected this course”, in relation to the constitutional reform promoted by PIT-CNT, the Communist Party and the Socialist Party, among others, which did not get enough votes. “Insisting is ignore that statement“adds the note.
“The retirement funds are not from the government or unions. They belong to those who generated them,” states the letter where it is also reported that Oddone and Castillo will be summoned.
