The French authorities are ready to organize an international conference in support of Lebanon, which will provide an opportunity to raise funds to help the country.
As reported “Armenpress”citing TASS, French President Emmanuel Macron announced this at a joint press conference with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulidis in Nicosia.
“When Lebanon deems it appropriate, France is ready to organize a conference that will mobilize all participants to contribute to the restoration of Lebanon’s sovereignty. This conference will focus on both the support of the Lebanese armed forces and the reconstruction of the south of the country. These goals are inextricably linked,” Macron said.
According to him, “the conference will provide an opportunity to attract additional European funding” to help Lebanon.
“France and Cyprus support the idea of a partnership agreement between the European Union and Lebanon, which can be formalized within the framework of that conference,” the French president emphasized.
