SAN MARINO – After the breaks for the national and NAT commitments, the San Marino Championship returns. The San Marino Academy Under 22 will face Cosmos on Friday 23 October, at 9.15pm, at the Dogana stadium, on the sixth day of the tournament.
The defender is available again among the blue and whites Gabriele Montaliborn in 2008, fresh from a one-match ban. The team is preparing to face an opponent in good form, coming off three consecutive victories.
“We face a team with a rather high level of experience and quality. We come from a defeat that left a bitter taste in our mouth, but at the same time gave us great motivation to start again strong”, explains Montali.
The young defender assures that the team will take the field without fear: “We will give it our all, we won’t give up an inch.”
The recent interruptions to the championship have affected the continuity of training, but according to Montali the group has maintained focus on its main objective: individual and collective growth.
“We are a young and united group, with quality. We know we can do well”, underlines the defender, highlighting how the performances offered so far have been encouraging, regardless of the results.
The ranking remains particularly balanced in the area occupied by the Under 22s, with seven teams within the space of a single point. Montali, however, prefers to focus on the team’s progress: “Every now and then we also look at the standings, but not that much. We are interested in the performances, and those have always been positive.”
The defender also talks about his transition from Primavera to Under 22, facilitated by his debut last season and by the knowledge of many teammates through his experiences in the national selections.
“We experience the team and the locker room very peacefully, and this helps us every day”, concludes Montali, convinced that the work started during the summer will bring results with patience and continuity.
