Rama: Let’s name the Mediterranean Games “Albin Kurti 2030”, just so we don’t lose them

The mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has ironized by declaring that he is ready for the 2030 Mediterranean Games to bear the name of the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, just so that Kosovo does not lose the opportunity to organize them.
Rama, invited to “Debat Plus”, stated that the organization of these games should not be seen as a political issue, but as an important opportunity for the development of the country and the creation of the necessary infrastructure.
“Is this a political issue as far as I’m concerned? I didn’t change the name to ‘Kosova 2030’, but we’re pushing ‘Albin Kurti 2030’ just to create this infrastructure and hold these games because they’re more than necessary for our country, our youth and our future,” declared Rama.
He warned that Kosovo risks losing the Mediterranean Games because of, as he said, “useless and naive things”.
According to Rama, this organization is a great opportunity for Pristina and Kosovo to invest in infrastructure until 2030, as well as to improve the country’s image in the international arena.
“To return to the monumental issue before us, I organized a major event that highlights Pristina, Kosovo on a global level. All of this for our citizens and Albanians everywhere has also changed the brand that Kosovo has in the world as an insecure country and a post-war country. So, we have a monumental opportunity, a real organization where we can create infrastructure until 2030, which had taken us time 20-30-40 time to build if we had this opportunity with the Mediterranean Games”, said Rama.
