The Vente Venezuela party called for a day of peaceful mobilization on Thursday in all entities of the country to demand the return of María Corina Machadothe publication of an electoral schedule that includes the 2027 presidential elections and the full release of political prisoners.
The call was made by youth leader Carlos Fernández and Henry Alviarez, Organization Coordinator of the Command With Venezuela, in a statement at the headquarters of Vente Venezuela, in Altamira. Both presented the mobilization as an opportunity to bring together sectors of society around the country’s political and social demands.
Fernández affirmed that the call occurs in the midst of the difficulties that the population is going through, including failures in public services, precarious educational conditions and economic situation. He blamed the government of Nicolás Maduro and Delcy Rodríguez for the political persecutiontorture and exile.
“Venezuela is going through the hardest moments in its history. Not only persecution, torture and exile, under the responsibility of the Maduro and Delcy regime, but now we also have to deal with a country in darkness,” he stated.
The youth leader insisted that Thursday’s event seeks to take these demands to the streets en masse and without violence, with the participation of citizens, political organizations and representatives of social sectors.
“October 22 will be the spearhead to mobilize massively and peacefully throughout the country. In 2027 we will embrace freedom and recover the prosperity of Venezuela. Caracas and all of Venezuela rise with deep pride and responsibility for the liberation of our homeland,” he added.
Fernández made reference to the daily difficulties of Venezuelans due to lack of water and electricityas well as the problems that teachers and families face in meeting their basic needs.
“It is a country that has had months without water, teachers who have no way to care for their students. Our country is dying of hunger. Nobody told us, we are seeing it,” he expressed.
Return of Machado, elections and freedom for political prisoners
Fernández listed three demands that will mark the mobilization. The first is the return of María Corina Machado to Venezuela, a demand that she linked to the advance of the political transition.
The second consists of publishing an electoral calendar and establishing a date for the 2027 presidential elections. Fernández maintained that the opposition is preparing to participate in these elections and reiterated his support for Machado as a candidate.
“We are going to count ourselves and we are going to elect María Corina, and we are organizing ourselves for this,” he said.
The third demand is the release of all political prisoners. He leader He asked that measures be adopted so that those detained for political reasons regain their freedom and their families stop waiting for a response.
“Enough of having our brothers imprisoned. The message to the ward is clear: give the order, the families of our prisoners can’t take it anymore. Give the order and release all the political prisoners now,” he expressed.
Fernández summarized the political purpose of the call with one phrase: “The date of the election is the date of the liberation of all Venezuelans.”
Alviarez links social demands with presidential elections
Henry Alviarez questioned the conditions for the exercise of political rights and electoral participation in Venezuela. In particular, he referred to the restrictions that, he maintained, affect Machado and the opposition parties.
“How can we talk about rights if the country’s main representative is not allowed to enter the country? If there is an election process, how is the country’s main party not allowed to be part of that?” he asked.
Alviarez also related the demands of workers and producers with the need for call presidential electionsconsidering that economic and political demands are part of the same demand for change.
Regarding the proposal for a national agreement presented by the Unitary Platform, Fernández assured that the sectors seeking a political solution maintain spaces for coordination and that it is up to citizens to discuss the terms of that understanding.
“This is a country that is united. What we did in Panama is in force. Yesterday what was done was to receive a proposal from the platform to show the country that we are united. It will be the people who discuss these points to define what the national agreement will be like,” he said.
The leader added that they hope to know the results of the ongoing political negotiations and reiterated that the call for presidential elections is one of the main demands of the opposition.
“We are expectant with what is happening at the negotiating table. What we will celebrate are the results of that table. What the country is asking for is the call for a presidential election,” he stated.
Plaza Venezuela will be the meeting point in Caracas
In Caracas, the rally is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Thursday in Plaza Venezuela, in front of the Polar Tower.
Fernández indicated that they expect the participation of citizens from the parishes of the capital.
The day is part of the national call promoted by opposition leaders to demand electoral guarantees, the return of Machado and the release of political prisoners.
