Washington, United States
A United States delegation formed by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Pakistan this weekend to participate in talks with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araqchi, reported the cnn which quotes two US administration officials.
Araqchí announced this Friday on his social network account
CNN information explains that the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance – who led his country’s delegation in the first round of contacts – is not currently planning to travel to Pakistan due to the absence of the President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, whom the US considers head of the Iranian delegation and Vance’s counterpart.
However, the vice president will remain on standby to travel to Islamabad if the talks progress, the officials cited said, and members of his team will be in Pakistan.
Islamabad, where the failed first round of negotiations was held on April 11 and 12, remains prepared to receive the parties, although contacts remain aground due to the Iranian refusal to sit down to negotiate while USA maintain the naval blockade of your ports and ships.
