The ongoing investigation, in which the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) has collected information, has revealed that TL via Facebook has been approached with attractive offers to invest in online trading. Thinking that it was a legitimate investment, she transferred various amounts of money to various bank accounts, including SRD 5,800 to RS’s bank account
When the promised returns did not materialize and the victim could no longer contact the providers, she went to the police. After coordination with the Public Prosecution Service, both RS and SF were taken into custody by the police. The Fraud Department continues the investigation.
