To spur tourism in Nay Pyi Taw and showcase local attractions, Soe Travel & Tour Co Ltd (STT) hosted a threeday, twonight Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon familiarization trip from 2 to 4 October.
A total of 35 participants, including distinguished guests, tour operators, tourism promotion teams, and media representatives, joined the tour.
On the first day, the group departed Yangon for Nay Pyi Taw by DEMU train. They visited the Herbal Garden, Shwe Nan Thwin Pagoda, the Letloktaung Tawya (forest retreat) Monastery, and the Pobbathiri Night Market before retiring to the Uttara Thiri Hotel for the night.
On the second day, the group paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image and enjoyed water activities, recreation, and lunch at the Ngapali Kantha Resort in Hlaykhwin Hill. They also visited the Defence Services Museum and the National Museum before enjoying dinner accompanied by cultural dances at the Thukha Soe Hotel.
On the third day, the group visited the white elephants near the Uppatasanti Pagoda, and shopped for local souvenirs at the Myoma Market before departing back to Yangon via DEMU train.
This tour not only allowed participants to comprehensively explore Nay Pyi Taw’s scenic natural landscapes, culture, and historical heritage in a single trip, but it also facilitated the exchange of experiences and perspectives among tour operators and relevant organizations. — TWA/ZN
