Food safety and the control of products consumed by citizens continue to be a concern, especially in cases where consumers are faced with moldy, expired products or with insects or other items inside them.
And to denounce a similar case, a citizen addressed our editorial office. He revealed that inside the KMY company’s crudo sausages he found an unusual material, which, at first glance, resembled a long thread of wool or twine that stretched almost the entire length of the sausage.
“Hello JOQ. I was at the market today and bought some products. Among them were some KMY sausages. When I was eating them, something came out that sometimes looked like sheep’s wool and sometimes like mason’s twine”, says the citizen in his complaint.
Although the citizen was surprised by this product and this content, we must tell him that this is not the first time that consumers face such problems from KMY.
But earlier for similar cases, the company was justified by the fact that crudo products are seasoned meat products, which are not subjected to thermal processing, i.e. they are not boiled or baked, and thus the material found in the product could be a strip of meat with a high percentage of fat, which was not properly chopped by the machine during the production process.
However, even if this is the technical explanation for the material found, it remains important that the manufacturing and processing process is controlled so that such products do not contain elements that could be confused with foreign materials.
After all, it cannot be the responsibility of the consumer to discover the “riddle” of an elongated material inside a sausage.
For this reason, the case requires a clear verification by the responsible institutions and a response to clarify what the material found is and whether the production process is operating according to the required standards.
