Zambia coach George Lwandamina said his team faced off against an opponent who was determined to win.
Lwandamina added, in his statements after the match: “We came to Algeria with the goal of achieving a good result, and although we conceded an early goal, we maintained our focus, and our efforts paid off at the beginning of the second half, when we were able to score the equalizer that was deserved.”
He continued: “But unfortunately for us, we made many mistakes, and the opponent was determined to achieve victory, and his second and third goals, which were scored in a short period of time, greatly affected us. When three goals became one goal, our team completely collapsed and could no longer come back again.”
