SAN MARINO – Work has begun on the set-up of “Schools in the field – I too am Civil Protection”, the project promoted by the Union of Civil Protection Volunteer Associations and Castle Groups, scheduled from 19 to 30 October in Serravalle.
In the spaces in front of the Tiro a Volo alla Ciarulla, in via dei Giacinti, a reception camp will be created for emergencies, such as earthquakes and floods, complete with tents, beds, toilets, kitchen, information office and medical facility.
The initiative, already tested in the Marche with the participation of San Marino volunteers, is aimed above all at children and young people, with the aim of spreading the culture of prevention and teaching the correct behavior to adopt in emergency situations.
During the activities, students will be able to participate in educational workshops, attend demonstrations with fire and flood prevention equipment, learn to use two-way radios and learn about the work of research dog units.
The organization will involve hundreds of volunteers, involved in setting up the camp, managing services and training activities, including afternoon and night shifts. The Union will be able to count on the collaboration of the Civil Protection Service and the Municipal Civil Protection Groups of the Marche region, in particular of Alto Montefeltro.
