The deputy of Popular Renewal Paola Martínez described as “inappropriate” motion of censure against the Minister of the Interior, César Astudilloduring a dialogue with We Have to Talk (TQH). The parliamentarian maintained that the head of the sector should continue with the plans he has established together with the National Police.
“I think it is inappropriate. We are not letting the current minister, Mr. César Astudillo, work”declared Martínez in TQH. According to him, the presentation of the motion would be related to other issues and he questioned the positions of some members of the groups promoting the initiative.
The deputy also pointed out that a change in the Ministry of the Interior and in the commands of the National Police could create difficulties in continuing with established plans. “The ministerial change, the change of commands within the National Police of Peru is going to bring quite a bit of difficulty in being able to continue the plans that have been established and that the minister has supported”he stated.
Martínez indicated that Astudillo presented these plans during a reserved session of Congress. “In the session that became reserved, information was given about the plans that the Ministry of the Interior will soon execute through the National Police of Peru.”held.
When asked in TQH about whether the motion of censure could respond to a possible revenge for the electoral results in which she lost Roberto SanchezMartínez responded: “On the one hand yes, but on the other hand it is motivated by hate. We are not thinking about the country”.
The parliamentarian added that, in her opinion, the motion would be related to what the current minister represents. “It is a matter of what the minister represents, precisely the fight against crime, chaos and terrorism”he stated.
Regarding the participation of the Obras and Good Government Party benches in the motion, Martínez considered that their members could have felt pressured by Together for Peru. “I believe that the heads of Obras feel pressured by Together for Peru”he declared.
Likewise, he highlighted the position of Now Nation facing the motion. “Greetings to the position of Now Nation“They are an opposition that is not being denialist nor is it obstructing the continuity of an important management.”he stated during the interview.
Martínez also questioned the presence of some members of Together for Peru in the reserved session. “Several of them were not present”he pointed out. According to the deputy, the parliamentarians who questioned the minister had to be present during the presentation made by Astudillo.
Finally, Martínez stated that Renovación Popular has requested information about an alleged connection between some deputies of Together for Peru with people related to Movadef. “We have already completed the respective formalities in our inspection activity, we are waiting for the corresponding response”, he indicated.
