SAN MARINO – A new philatelic issue dedicated to the engineer’s work Gilberto Rossini and his contribution to San Marino school architecture. “Schools for a community” was presented on Monday 21 September during a hearing before the Captains Regent Alice Mina And Vladimiro Selva. cs philatelic issue
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of State for the Territory Matteo Ciaccithe top management of Poste San Marino, the director Gian Luca Friends and the same Gilberto Rossini.
The stamp and the three seals of the commemorative leaflet depict the Cailungo nursery school, the Murata elementary school and the Cà Caccio school, the latter also represented through an image of the construction site. Buildings designed with the aim of creating open spaces in relation to the surrounding environment, in which architecture, nature and educational needs could coexist. cs philatelic issue
During the hearing the Regency highlighted the value of schools as places of growth and future, while Matteo Ciacci underlined how the issue represents recognition of an architectural heritage belonging to the entire San Marino community.
Gilberto Rossinihead of the State Technical Office from 1961 to 1996, has also linked his name to other important public works, from the Cinema Teatro Turismo to the Church of Borgo Maggiore, the latter directed based on a project by Giovanni Michelucci. His works have obtained international recognition and reached the 9th Venice Architecture Biennale. cs philatelic issue
The philatelic issue is available from 21 September and is accompanied by a special QR Code which allows access to the documentary “Un’idea di Città” by Massimo Salvuccidedicated to the works of Rossini.
