The president Keiko Fujimoriparticipated in the Meeting of Heads of State and Government on the “Santiago Regional Commitment against transnational organized crime”, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
During his visit, regarding the United Nations General Assemblythe president took the opportunity to participate in the meeting with the presidents of Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz; from Chile, José Antonio Kast; from Paraguay, Santiago Peña; of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi and the foreign ministers of Ecuador, Roberto Kury and of Argentina, Pablo Quirno.
At the meeting, the heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to the implementation of this initiative, which has the purpose of strengthening regional cooperation against organized crime.

At the meeting, the president highlighted the need to provide a firm regional response to organized crime, through the constant exchange of information, effective coordination between authorities and direct actions against criminal structures and financial resources.
